In 2010, your membership and support helped us convince the Sunrise City Commission to abandon plans to construct the Everglades Corporate Park in Broward County, on the edge of protected wetlands.

NO RIGS OFF OUR SHORES

In 2010, President Obama pledged to keep Florida's coast rig-free until at least 2017. The public outcry in the aftermath of the Gulf spill hastened that decision, and some of the loudest voices were from Environment Florida members who signed petitions, wrote emails and joined "Hands Across the Sand" events to protest offshore drilling.

BRINGING SOLAR POWER TO THE SUNSHINE STATE

Hundreds more home and business owners installed solar panels in 2010, thanks to a popular program that eased upfront installation costs. We pushed to better fund this rebate program with money from the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which Environment Florida vigorously supported in 2009.
